Can't crop

For some reason I can't crop images in photoshop. when I drag the corner out, the box stays the same shape..it's kind of hard to explain, but it stays in the same proportions, so I can't crop it right..does anyone know how to fix this?

When your crop tool is clicked, hover over the toolbar on top and there will be a crop tool icon with an arrow on its right.

Click on it.

Then click on the arrow in the circle once a menu pops up.

Select "Reset All Tools"
