Text Tool Help

I'm really new to photoshop, and have been trying out tutorials to find my way around.
But on one tutorial I was trying, but when I did an effect on one my layers with Text, it happened to ALL my layers with text, when I only wanted it to happen on the one I selected :S

Could you show me the tutorial you're trying? ..or print screen your menu b/c I have no idea what you're talking about... lol

I'll printscreen tomorow as I dont have PS open now, but basically, on the tutorial I type out my text and then duplicate the layer and hide it, and do all the effects on the duplicated layer, but when I unhide the begining text layer with the plain text and try to flip it to create a mirror effect It just does the effect on the text layer with all the effects on, and the one i unchecked doesnt seem to even be visible :S:S:S:S I suck at explaining

Maybe it's happening because you didn't click on the actual layer, but the hidden layer when making those effects...maybe?

I made sure I clicked it, cause I was following a VIDEO tutorial :( And Im really new to Photoshop so I wouldnt know what I'm doing wrong, and plus it was hard to see what was happening in the video because it was all small :( *sigh* I'll printscreen tomorrow.

You could try to press ctrl + t on the duplicated text layer and then turn it around. This is the only way I know to do it.
P.S.: I replied your PM 2 seconds ago but didn't thought about that. lol

did you rasterize the txt?
if you did..and did something onto the rasterize one,
probably it will have an effect..
well its hard to explain here lol..
