how do i get the page to come up but keep the rest of the layout there.

that's called iframes. Do you mean like my site?

You can either use iframes, not recommended, or you can use a header and a footer file and call them with PHP.

you can use php includes to do that or if you dont like using them you can make the nav a div layer and the middle bit an iframe and target the links to the iframe

thanks for all you help but i have one more problem
when i click "mwah" it comes up on top of the first welcome page. how do i make it just come up as one page at a time?

note my site is in php.
