Smart FTP Won't Open >.<

I can't open Smart FTP. I didn't do anything, I was just on it and it wouldn't open a file I needed to edit my site, and then it said that it had an error and needed to close, and so now it opens up those files then shows the error message then closses down every time I re-open it. Wtf? I am SO frustrated! What do I do?!?!

What was the file format? Maybe it was typed incorrectly.

Try turning your computer on & off, that usually solves problems like that.

It was .html. I know it wasn't a typo or anything. I'm actually thinking I've got a trojan because of the ICQ one, I highly dout it would be only one social networking site. It's showing signs of a virus. I think, tbh, that everyone should run virus scans just to be safe. It's a really big one underway "they" say I heard on the news. And if this is the case, and if I have one, I may have transfered the virus onto you. :(

Oh okay, I generally just leave things like that and they tend to sort themselves out.

You could try opening smartftp on its own to see if that works and opening the file from in there?

Reinstall Smart FTP.
What does show the error? SmartFTP or the program you use to open the html files?

The issue is that I can't get into smart FTP. Not that I can't get into the files. This is what happens when I try to get in:

Uninstall SmartFTp, and make sure that the installation folder (from Programs Files, or wherever you've installed it) is gone.
Download the newest version and install it.

Does it only happen with that files? Can you open other html files?
Can you open other kind of files?

Or if still doesn't work, you can simply use ftp online:

http://net2ftp.com/

Enter your account information in it, and all your files are supposed to be there and you can edit your site. You should not have problem with it.

why don't you try filezilla ftp (http://www.download.com/FileZilla/3000-2160_4-10308966.html?tag=lst-1&cdlPid=10847540)...

it's easy to use...

uninstall it ( go My Computer - > Add / Remove Files ) and install it again ..
