I'm thinking of installing cutenews or holscan or something like that, but i was just wondering if there's anything special you have to do, other than copy and paste the code into your updates.. pardon me if this question seem noob-ish, but I've never had programs like that, i just type in updates mannualy.
You need to paste the code to where you want your updates to show up...

You need to upload/ install it to your site. and then paste the code where you want the news to show.
Cutenews walks you through the whole thing because it tells you to go to something like cutenews/install.php where it tells you what to do. Its really easy. Same for haloscan/

i guess it's better if you use cutenews, easy to install and much organized than haloscan. :D

Yes, but there's still always the risk of being hacked through cutenews. :/
I havent used haloscan in years so i cant remember if its the same.

you can use cutenews with iframes, you only have to save the main page as .php :p
although i don't recommend cutenews because it's easily hacked - a good alternative is fanupdate http://prism-perfect.net/archive/fanupdate/

^ She didn't say you need PHP. Well, your index, just change the extension to .php instead. Simple.
And then go to the cutenews install page. But I don't think you should install cutenews.. it's terriblyyy easy to hack. Get Fusionnews, or Fanupdate, my favourite, if you want something simple.
